Anita Choy

Evening Program Assistant and Rec Connect Instructor/Assistant

Anita is a parent, former SNBC program participant, and Sunset District resident.  She joined the SNBC team in early 2007 as the Computer Class Instructor for SNBC’s West Sunset Rec Connect Program.  Each Saturday, she teaches weekly classes to local monolingual Chinese-speaking adults and seniors.  Shortly after becoming a class instructor, Anita assumed additional program duties as the Rec Connect Program Assistant.  In this capacity, Anita provides assistance in key Rec Connect operations, and she has developed profound relationships with the many Chinese-speaking families who participate in the program.

In the fall of 2008 Anita took on yet another role: serving as SNBC’s Evening Program Assistant, providing invaluable support to the development and implementation of the Evening Community Programs at A.P.Giannini Middle School.  As a local parent who is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin, Anita serves as a critical point of connection with the need and interests of families in the Sunset District.  She also provides a culturally competent and welcoming presence to SNBC’s evening programs.

Anita is the proud parent of Fiona, who is a 4th grader at Francis Scott Key Elementary School and a participant in the West Sunset Rec Connect Program.
