Kaleda Walling started as the Director of Experience Corps Bay Area in January 2009.  Kaleda has worked many years in education-based programs providing academic support and services to underserved communities.  She served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps, Thailand, spent eight years directing youth programs in Vallejo and San Francisco Unified School Districts, managed an animal shelter for several years, and served as the Director of Share-A-Pet in San Francisco, an organization that engages volunteers and their dogs in providing pet-assisted therapy to senior citizens, children, and individuals living in institutional settings.  Kaleda has spent many years volunteering in animal rescue and working with programs serving homeless and low-income families. 

Kaleda recently moved to the Sunset neighborhood and shares a home with her two daughters, Petra and Sydney, her partner Joe, and their three dogs, Popeye, Daphne, and Dexter.
