Megan Agee
Megan has been with the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center since October 2002 and has worked in the organization in a variety of capacities. She began as SNBC's Safety Network Community Organizer, and later served as the Director of Community Programs. Currently, Megan is SNBC's Deputy Director. Prior to working at SNBC, Megan's previous experiences included conducting legislative work in Sacramento for a foster youth advocacy organization, as well as working for First 5 California, the state government agency devoted to providing comprehensive services for children and families during a child's first five years of life. After obtaining her bachelor's degree in History at Stanford, Megan served as an AmeriCorps member, coordinating youth service-learning programs for a collaborative agency in East Palo Alto and Palo Alto.
As the Deputy Director, Megan is responsible for providing leadership within the SNBC staff team and for maximizing SNBC's ability to meet the needs and interests of the Sunset community. She coordinates SNBC's fund development efforts, which involves supporting the "Friends of SNBC" fundraising committee, grant writing, and managing SNBC's relationships with public and private funders. Megan also directs the communication activities that help SNBC more closely connect with program participants and partners. Additionally, Megan represents SNBC in multi-agency projects, including both Sunset-based activities and in the citywide Rec Connect Initiative. As a testament to her devotion and love for the Sunset District, Megan is the proud owner of not just one, but TWO Sunset "Neighborhoodie" sweatshirts.
