Ramona Santiago Burnell

Experience Corps Volunteer Trainer & Evaluation Coordinator

Ramona is proud to be a native San Franciscan, and has worked as an educator, cook, and political campaigner. While living in Santa Cruz, California, Ramona taught high school ESL, and co-piloted the Summer Language Academy, an innovative summer school program offering continuing oral and written language development for English language learners. Since moving back to the City, she has had the opportunity to teach eighth grade Language Arts and ESL classes for immigrant adults.

Most recently, Ramona has entered the rewarding non-profit organizational sphere, coordinating and leading workshops for adult volunteers in the public schools. She speaks Spanish and French, is an obsessive reader of fiction and non-fiction, and really digs swing and Big Band music.
