AP Giannini Middle School

A collaboration between the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) and the Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center (SNBC), the After School Learning Center (ASLC) is a free program, Monday through Friday, from 3:30 to 6:00pm for A.P. Giannini Middle School students. The program consists of a snack, art, recreational or cultural activities and experiential learning and homework assistance.
Program Description
- STUDY CENTER
Interactive homework assistance where teachers, volunteers, high school and peer tutors create a nurturing environment for learning. It's not a quiet study hall but an engaging one! - PROJECT TEAMS
Project-based learning activities focused on creativity and career development encourage students to learn in a fun and interactive way. Classes include Newsletter and Movie Making, Cartoon and Anime, Urban Music, Mouse Squad, Peer Resources and Leadership, Urban Dance, and Flash Animation.
- RECREATION AND ENRICHMENT
The ASLC provides recreational activities, art and enrichment, from 5:00 to 6:00pm everyday. These activities include basketball, Djing, break dancing, arts and crafts, and web-page design. Campaign to provide youths with the opportunity to volunteer in their community.
3:25 - 4:00 pm - Community Time
4:00 - 5:00 pm - Project-Based Learning Clubs/Study Center
5:00 - 6:00 pm - Enrichment and Recreation/Study Center
If you would like to enroll your child in the ASLC, please come to the School Site Beacon Center at A.P. Giannini Middle School between 3:30 and 6:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Our school office is located at the top of the ramp, next to the cafeteria.
