Francis Scott Key Elementary School

Francis Scott Key provides an academic and enrichment afterschool program that focuses on expanding academic achievement and promoting youth development. Students attend the program daily from 1:50 - 5:50 pm and participate in academic classes focusing on Literacy and Math, a homework/tutorial program,
and a variety of enrichment activities.

"Before I was in [the Francis Scott Key After School Learning Program] I just went home after school and did my homework. Then I watched T.V. and spent the rest of my afternoon bored. After I got into the program in the fourth grade, I got lots of help on my homework and had a lot of fun."

	- Lucy Nguyen, FSK afterschool program alumna

The After School Learning Program provides students who are in need of academic assistance, a
safe place to explore academics and experience enrichment outside of the regular school day.

Urban Music Program

The Urban Music Program is a club, family and musical utopia dedicated
to teaching and spreading our passion for music. This usually happens
when we are DJ’ing, making beats, freestyling, playing loud instruments,
doing field recordings, writing, recording, producing songs and
performing unusual sonic experiments. Like any good family, we
constantly inspire, support and challenge each other to grow.

The Urban Music Program was started by Jon Bernson in 1997 with 8
youth, a PMX 1600 Gemini mixer and two Technic 12000’s. Over the last
10 years, we’ve added new gear, many new branches and collaborated with
many musical souls: old and young, gifted and green, famous and almost
famous. We’ve crossed paths with hundreds of talented youth who’ve
learned and taught us much in our quest for musical truth.
